If you have been thinking about booking a family session but are not totally sure what you are signing up for, this one is for you.
A lot of families come to me having never worked with a photographer before. Or they had a session somewhere else that felt stiff and rushed, and they are a little hesitant to try again. Either way, I want you to know what to expect before you ever reach out.
A session with me should feel good. Easy. Like an hour where your family actually got to be together. Here is how I make that happen.
You Do Not Need to Know How to Pose
This is the thing I hear most from families before their session. We are not photogenic. Our kids never cooperate. We are going to be awkward. My husband hates photos.
Promise you, that is my job to handle.
I guide every family through the session from start to finish. Giving prompts that get real reactions instead of forced smiles. Moving people around, adjust the light, and create the conditions for genuine moments to happen. You just have to show up. Kids have fun and husbands realize that it was actually enjoyable.

The Session Feels Like Time Together, Not a Photoshoot
My sessions are designed to feel like quality time. Not a checklist of poses. Although, I do prompt, set you up where light is best and then help you let it unfold.
We will walk, play, laugh, and connect. Kids will run around. Toddlers will do their thing. Babies will be babies. I work with all of it. The chaos is part of it, and some of the best moments come from exactly those in-between seconds when nobody is trying.
By the end, most families tell me it went by faster than they expected and felt easier than they thought it would.

I Plan It So You Do Not Have To
From the moment you reach out, you will never feel left in the dark. I communicate every step of the way so you always know what is coming next, what to prepare, and what to expect. Before your session, I send you everything you need. A style guide to help with outfits. Information about timing and what to bring. And when it comes to location, you can either request to see my location guide or you can tell me to make that decision.
Las Vegas has incredible variety. Desert landscapes with red rock formations. Mountain terrain that shoots completely different from the valley. Lush greenery tucked into spots most people do not know about. Urban downtown vibes to relish on that Vegas vibe. Heck, your own backyard or home. I match the location to your family’s vibe and the look you are going for. You do not have to research a thing.

What Happens After Your Session
Once we finish the session, I get to work. I carefully edit your gallery and deliver your images through an online gallery where you can view, download, and order prints directly. You aren’t required to pick a certain number of images. All of my packages give you the access to download the whole gallery at no additional fee.
The turnaround time is communicated before we start so you always know what to expect. No wondering or chasing me down for updates.
A Note on Timing
Las Vegas light is something I think about constantly. The time of day we shoot matters, and it depends on where we are going.
Mountain locations catch that warm, golden light earlier in the evening than flat desert spots. Morning sessions are often perfect for families with young kids, especially if you are visiting from out of town and jet lag has everyone up early anyway. I will always recommend the time that works best for your specific session.
What Makes My Sessions Different
I have been photographing families for over a decade. And in that time I have put a lot of thought into every part of the experience, not just the hour we spend together outside.
I have hired photographers for my own family and those sessions reminded me how much it means to feel taken care of. To show up and just trust someone. That experience shaped the way I work and the experience I have built for my own clients.
From your first inquiry to the moment your gallery lands in your inbox, I take pride in making sure you feel taken care of. Informed, prepared, and never wondering what comes next. That is something I have built intentionally over years of doing this work and it matters as much to me as the photos themselves.
Because photos are a way of holding onto the people and moments we never want to forget. My job is to create the space where those moments can actually happen. Not to manufacture them. Just to be ready when they do.
