That’s exactly where we spent this session with a first-time mama and her partner. It was joyful, colorful, and at one point involved a bagel. More on that in a second.
Why Mt. Charleston Works So Well for Maternity Photos
Most people don’t associate Las Vegas with lush, green scenery. Mt. Charleston is the exception.
The elevation brings cooler temps and a completely different landscape than you’ll find anywhere else in the valley. It’s one of the most beautiful and underused maternity session locations in the Las Vegas area.

What Made This Session Feel Like Them
This is their first baby. There’s a specific kind of energy that comes with that. Everything is new and about to change. They were both fully in it and so excited for the next chapter.
We kept things easy and fun. At the start I pulled out a surprise bagel, because she had been craving them all pregnancy.
Her red sweater and cream skirt against that wide blue sky turned out to be a completely unplanned nod to their July 4th due date. My favorite unintentional details from their session.
When to Book Your Maternity Session
The sweet spot is 28 to 32 weeks. Your bump is round and beautiful, you’re still comfortable moving around, and you have time to breathe before baby arrives.
If you’re thinking about it, now is the time to reach out. Dates fill up, and the last few weeks of pregnancy move faster than you expect.
